SEMINOLE  RAN 5 STRONG LAPS AND DROPPED OUT WITH A BLOWN MOTOR
The battle of the day was between the Rio Roses Cigarette piloted by Raul Boesel and throttleman Phil Lipshutz and the V-76 Fountain / Aehronix driven by Joe Sgro and Peter Meyer. On the final lap of the race, both boats were neck and neck coming down the front straight. And while the Rio Roses boat inched ahead in the final moments, claiming second place on the podium by less than two feet.

V-76 MERCURY RACING CAME IN 3RD  PLACE IN THE ATLANTIS SUPERBOAT CHALLENGE, BUT THAT STILL GAVE JOE SGRO AND PETER MYER ENOUGH POINTS TO CLINCH THE SBI SUPER VEE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 2000.
